Educational Services
Some children come to our Educational Program for only a short time; others need to stay longer. We provide intensive education only for as long as students need to be here. Our goal is to prepare the students for their eventual return to the public education system.
Each child’s educational program is designed based upon the individual student’s strengths, weaknesses, needs, and priorities. The program is then delivered via an integrated multi-disciplinary team approach.
At transition time, Judevine Center for Autism will provide information, training, and support to not only the student and parents, but also the receiving school system to ensure a smooth and effective transition. Follow-up consultation is also available to ensure a successful adjustment.
School
Judevine Center for Autism provides an alternative educational option for students on the autism spectrum. This therapeutic program is designed for students with a diagnosis of Asperger’s Disorder or High Functioning Autism. The program is staffed by certified special education professionals, and related service professionals. The program curriculum is individually designed to meet the unique behavioral needs of students which have caused them to be unsuccessful in traditional classroom settings. The curriculum is adapted to meet each student’s unique learning style following an extensive educational evaluation. The long term thrust of the program is its focus on the pragmatics of language and behavior to assure success in the academic and non-academic environments, allowing for generalization of target skills to adulthood, including employment.
Therapeutic Residential School
Judevine Center for Autism offers a therapeutic residential school for students with autism spectrum disorders. Each student’s educational program is developed individually based upon his or her strengths, needs, interests and learning style. Collaboration and active participation among Judevine staff, the contracting school district or agency, and the parents is integral to the success of this transitional program. Instruction is provided across environments home, school, and community -- in order to ensure acquisition as well as generalization of target skills. A team approach to treatment is provided, which includes support from various professional disciplines, such as Speech/Language Pathology, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Behavioral Psychology, and Social Work.
